Problem or undesirable behaviours can stem from boredom, stress and frustration. Moving house, having visitors or new additions to the family can all be stressful while on the other hand an environment with no enrichment day in day out can lead to frustration. Teaching our cats to forage for their food instead of free feeding improves quality of life and helps keep the weight down too! The toys in this box are easy and fun and help your kitty learn to forage while keeping frustration levels low.
Included in this box are:
A Sticky fish for wet food smearables
A Doc & Phoebe treat dispensing mouse with fabric outer -great for cats claws to throw around!
A Kong Active Treat Ball
Treats and other goodies
We hope you have fun getting the most out of these toys and tools, the below are to give you a little jump start!
Sticky Fish
This Sticky Fish is such a great little tool.
Instead of using a food bowl use your sticky fish to encourage licking. This fish has a large surface area and has a couple of different surfaces to smear onto. Licking is a self soothing behaviour for cats- just look at how much time they spend grooming themselves!!
This Fish can also be used on a wall with their favourite yummy smeared on it. This can be quite useful if your cat has cat flu and putting their heads forward to eat when they are all stuffed up often discourages them from eating. So by popping this on a wall it keeps the head raised while they eat.
This can also be a useful tool to help keep your cat busy while you brush them or need to do any handling with them.

Doc and Phoebe Mouse Forager
The clever design of this mouse engages cats in play and stimulates your cats natural hunting instinct. The treats are in fact not so hard to get out of the toy. The fabric outer engages the claws on the mouse giving them the ability to throw it around rather than just a smooth plastic surface.
Cats are thinkers and you may see them engage and walk away and re-engage. They assess the situation and go back and test it then come away and think about it again. My cat did a lot of purring and swishing and rubbing against me when she was working it out so be patient and pat or stroke them as they learn the game.
Once your cat has the hang of this you can start to put it in different places for it to find. The idea is to get them hunting which switches on the seeking system in the brain. This has a truck load of benefits for our cat’s emotional well being.
Once your cat is loving this then you also have the option to buy the Mouse Foragers set. What fun to set your cat’s mice up with their food for the day hidden around the house for them to find while you are at work!
We are keen to see your cats playing with this so please be sure to tag us on your socials @crazycritterztoybox

Kong Active Treat Ball
Kong Active Treat Ball
We love this simple little toy.
Its design makes it easy for the cats to use and the treats fall out quite easily once moved.
It is light, easy to push and the treats make a nice little rattle which is enticing for our curious kitties!
Again take some time to move it around and show your cat how to use it.
We find if you start with treats in both chambers it gives easy wins and sparks interest straight away.

Treats and Goodies
The treats we have selected are all australian made and all natural.
They are all suitable to use in your toys as well as your normal kibble. You can try breaking or choppping larger treats into smaller pieces if it is a new treat for them-I found smaller chunks meant my cat was more willing to give it a nibble.
We have also included a tin of Ziwi cat food as this is just such a great quality food and the consistency of it is great on the sticky fish!
